Detector and Housing
The Ronan Continuous Level System is furnished with either an ion chamber or scintillation detector. The ion chamber detector contains an ultra-stable, low bias voltage ionization chamber sensor and associated amplifier. The amplifier converts the output of the ion chamber to a high-level voltage signal easily transmitted to the remotely mounted electronic unit.

The scintillation detector sensor consists of the scintillation crystal and photomultiplier tube with associated electronics. The scintillation crystal produces light pulses proportional to incident radiation striking it. These light pulses are then converted to electrical pulses which are amplified and transmitted to the remotely mounted electronic unit.

Enclosures available include explosion proof NEMA type 9 or weatherproof NEMA type 4.
