Density Systems
Application solutions for process density measurements. Systems use non-contact technology keeping all system components not wetted to the process. This design enables density measurements on processes with conditions of extreme and changing temperatures, high pressure, corrosive, abrasive, and toxic. The non-contact design eliminates component wear while increasing system life.
The system consists of a low energy gamma ray emitting source, detector, and microprocessor. Mounting is dependent upon the application. Often these systems mount external to existing piping, but sometimes process conditions require the system to be mounted in-line to piping or inside a vessel. Common to all designs, a source and detector are positioned so the process media can fill between the two components. As the process density increases, the gamma energy able to penetrate the process is reduced from reaching the detector. This signal is correlated to a density measurement, displayed in selectable units of measure, and outputted at the microprocessor.
