Detector / Amplifier
The Ronan Density/Percent Solids Monitor is furnished with either an ion chamber or scintillation detector. The ion chamber detector contains an ultra stable, low-bias voltage ionization chamber sensor and associated amplifier. The amplifier converts the output of the ion chamber to a high-level voltage signal easily transmitted to the remotely mounted electronic unit. The scintillation detector sensor consists of the scintillation crystal and the photomultiplier tube with associated electronics. The scintillation crystal produces light pulses proportional to incident radiation striking it. These light pulses are converted to a pulse that is amplified and transmitted to a remotely mounted electronic unit.
