Weight Scale Systems

Application solutions for weighing and throughput measurements on conveyor systems. Systems use non-contact technology with all system components mounted around the conveyor not touching the process. This design enables measurements on processes with conditions of extreme temperatures, sterile, corrosive, wet, abrasive, and toxic. Measurements are made on all types of conveyors with screw conveyors, light loaded belts, and metal belt systems being the most popular.

The system consists of a low energy gamma ray emitting source, detector, and microprocessor. Mounting is dependent upon the conveyor design, but is most commonly with the source over the top of the conveyor and the detector under the conveyor. As the process mass increases on the conveyor, the gamma energy reaching the detector is reduced. This signal is correlated to a weight measurement, combined with a conveyor speed input, and computed into a throughput measurement. These values are displayed in selectable units of measure, and outputted at the microprocessor.
